Ultra Music Festival (UMF)

First is the UMF or Ultra Music festival



Every Year at Miami Florida, Over 100 countries gathered to witness, 170 artists performing, for 6 days in, 7 different stages. Only the best djs in the world are invited to perform.

History of UMF:
Ultra Music Festival was founded in 1999 by business partners Russell Faibisch and Alex Omes and Bruce Braxton. The first festival was held as a one-day event at the end of the Winter Music Conference in 1999 with performances by Rabbit in the Moon and DJ Baby Anne. The event was held on South Beach in Miami Beach, Florida, and was a major success. In March 2000, the festival returned to South Beach as a one-day event; the festival was met with even more success and was renewed immediately for a third year. The 15th anniversary of Ultra Music Festival held in 2013 was held over two weekends for the first time ever (Friday through Sunday.)


Because of the massive rise in attendance between 1999 and 2000, festival coordinators decided to relocate to Bayfront Park inDowntown Miami for the third annual event. UMF continued to bring the biggest names in electronic dance music to Miami with performances by Tiësto, EC Twins, Paul van Dyk, Paul Oakenfold, Sander Kleinenberg, Photek, Josh Wink, p.a.w.n. LASERS, DJ Craze, and Rabbit in the Moon from 2001 to 2005. With the record-breaking attendance of the seventh annual UMF in 2005, the festival was again relocated to a smaller (by area) venue, Bicentennial Park, for 2006. In 2007, with Winter Music Conference in full swing, Ultra Music Festival held its first two-day event at Bicentennial Park with a record breaking 50,000+ concert goers in attendance. Ultra Music Festival celebrated its 10th anniversary March 28–29, 2008 with performances by Tiësto, Underworld, Justice, Paul van Dyk, Carl Cox, Armin van Buuren, MSTRKRFT, deadmau5, Annie Mac, Eric Prydz, Ferry Corsten, Calvin Harris, Moby, The Crystal Method, Boys Noize, Benny Benassi, Armand van Helden, Duck Sauce, David Guetta, Jes, Enur, Pete Tong, Jackal & Hyde, Dj MYREN from Iran(2014) and Rabbit in the Moon.
With estimated attendance over 70,000, the festival set a new City of Miami record for number of tickets sold at a single event. The 11th annual UMF occurred March 27–28, 2009; the lineup including more crossover acts and live bands like The Black Eyed Peas, The Prodigy, The Ting Tings, Santigold, Crystal Castles, The Whip, and Perry Farrell. The 12th annual UMF took place March 26–27, 2010, with headlining performances again by Tiësto and deadmau5, as well as performances by David Guetta, Orbital, Little Boots, Sasha & Digweed, Above & Beyond, and The Bloody Beetroots. Each stage was accompanied with visual arts provided by VJs Vello Virkhaus,Psyberpixie, and Cozer. The festival sold out for the first time with over 100,000 attendees, where it was announced that the 13th annual event would take place over the course of three days in March 2011.

DeadMau5 also known as, Joel Thomas Zimmermanis a Canadianprogressive-house music producer and performer from Toronto, Ontario.

Zimmerman produces a variety of styles within the house genre and sometimes other forms of electronic dance music. His tracks have been included in numerous compilation albums such as the 2007 In Search of Sunrise 6: Ibiza CD. The February 2008 issue of MixMag's music magazine included a free CD which was titled MixMag Presents: The Hottest New Name In Dance! DEADMAU5 Tech-Trance-Electro-Madness, mixed by Zimmerman. Tracks have also been included and presented on Armin van Buuren's A State of Trance radio show. His debut album, Get Scraped, was released in 2005, followed by others in the next few years.
As well as his own solo releases, Zimmerman has worked alongside other DJs and producers, such as Kaskade, MC Flipside, Rob Swire of Knife Party and Pendulum, Wolfgang Gartner, Bighorse, and on a number of releases, Zimmerman has partnered with Melleefresh. The release date is currently unknown, but an early 12" single produced on vinyl titled "I Don't Want No Other" was released by Joel Zimmerman under the alias "Dred And Karma". The 2006 album titled Deadmau5 Circa 1998–2002 was released using the alias "Halcyon441" and the collaboration with Joel Zimmerman and Steve Duda was under the alias "BSOD" (which stands for "Blue Screen of Death")

9. Hardwell

Hardwell also known as, Robbert van de Corput is a Dutch progressive and electro house DJ and music producerHardwell first gained recognition in 2009 for his bootleg of "Show Me Love vs. Be" and after the release of his single "Zero 76," a collaboration track with Tiësto in 2011, his popularity increased. He founded record label, Revealed Recordings in 2010 and his own radio show and podcast, Hardwell On Air in 2011. He has since released four compilation albums through his label, as well as his own documentary film. Hardwell has stated that he is currently working on his debut studio album, which is expected to be released sometime in 2014.

8. Dog Blood

Dog Blood are a side project formed in 2012 by Skrillex & Boys Noize. Their debut single, Next Order / Middle Finger, was released on August 12, 2012 on Beatport and iTunes. The song "Next Order" managed to reach #1 on Beatport's Techno chart. On the 9th of November, Dog Blood announced they were working on new material. Skrillex premiered a new Dog Blood track on an exclusive OWSLA live stream to members of The Nest on the 21 of December 2012. On the 16th of September they released their second EP, which consists of the tracks 'Shred or Die (Kill Em With The Beat)', 'Middle Finger Pt. 2' and 'Chella Ride'. The EP is composed of a further two remixes of "Middle Finger" by The M Machine & Millions Like Us. The song "Chella Ride" peaked at #1 on the Beatport Breaks chart.
On the 17th of March, Dog Blood performed live at Ultra Music Festival 2013 and debuted new material, including a remix of ASAP Rocky's "Wild For The Night". Dog Blood debuted their 'Wild For The Night" remix along with three new songs. Information was released of an eight track remix package of their debut single Next Order/Middle Finger set to be released in late August, as well as a 5 track standard release coming out via The Nest subscription. Dog Blood performed at the Las Vegas Electric Daisy Carnival and Glastonbury Festival in Pilton, Somerset in June 2013. They also played a show on July 14th for the RBC Ottawa Bluesfest and made their Hard Summer debut on Saturday, August 3rd. On Skrillex's BBC Essential Mix 15/6/13, Skrillex premiered the new tracks "Dog Blood - Chella Ride", "A$AP Rocky - Wild For The Night (Dog Blood Remix)", and "Josh Wink - Higher State of Consciousness (Dog Blood Edit)".

7. Flosstradamus

Flosstradamus is the stage name of Chicago-based Dj J2K (Josh Young) and Autobot (Curt Cameruci).
They have performed at events such as the Ultra Music Festival, Electric Daisy Carnival, Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, Pitchfork Music Festival, Rothbury Music Festival, Lollapalooza, TomorrowWorld and South by Southwest. They have worked alongside artists including Kid Sister(Young's sister), Diplo, Three 6 Mafia's Juicy J, The Cool Kids, and A-Trak.
In April 2006, Flosstradamus were included in URB's annual "Next 100".
In 2007, Flosstradamus released a mix album for Vice Records as part of Toyota's Scion "CD Sampler" series. In addition, during the summer of 2007 they embarked on an international tour with Chromeo, dubbed the "Fancy Footwork Tour".
Curt is also active in the Serato Scratch Live community making his Flossy FX sampler available online to the masses via their MySpace page.
Flosstradamus has played at many college campuses such as Wellesley College, Drexel University (alongside Waka Flocka Flame), Northwestern University, Carnegie Mellon University (playing alongside RJD2), Middlebury College, and Columbia University.
In 2009, they collaborated with NIKE + to create a repetative exercise mix tape consisting of new De La Soul material. Flosstradamus also collaborated with Chairlift's Caroline Polachek to create the single, "Big Bills" for Green Label Sound (the first original production release from Flosstradamus). They have additionally appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, and the Nick Jr. program Yo Gabba Gabba!.
In 2011, J2K featured on Toddla T's 2011 hit Take It Back which was a moderate hit reaching the Top 50 in the UK charts.
In 2011, Flosstradamus released the EP, Jubilation, through Fool's Gold. They released another EP, Total Recall, on February 23, 2012 through Jeffrees/Mad Decent. Their most recent EP, Jubilation 2.0, was released on May 8, 2012.
Flosstradamus produced Iggy Azalea's "Flexin & Finessin" track, featuring Juicy J, off her 2012 mixtape "TrapGold". They also produced "YungRhymeAssassin" from Mykki Blanco's 2012 mixtape Cosmic Angel: The Illuminati Prince/ss.
The duo recently released a trap collaboration EP with DJ Sliink entitled Nomads.
The duo recently posted a video on their Instagram account, which features a preview of a new track called 'HDYBYZ'

6. Avicii

Avicii also known as Tim Berglin. is a Swedish DJ, remixer, and record producer. Avicii ranked at number 6 on DJ Magazine's annual Top 100 DJs poll in 2011, In 2012 he placed at number 3 and again in 2013.He has been nominated twice for a Grammy Award for his work on "Sunshine" with David Guetta in 2012 and in 2013 for his song "Levels".
In 2010, Avicii released the song "Seek Bromance", which reached the top 20 in several countries including Belgium, France, the Netherlands, United Kingdom, and Sweden. He also remixed Nadia Ali's classic single "Rapture" for her album Queen of Clubs Trilogy: Onyx Edition. In October 2010, Avicii signed with the European A&R team with EMI Music Publishing.
In 2011, Avicii released "Levels" which became a huge mainstream hit, greatly increasing Avicii's popularity. The song was produced and written by Tim Bergling and contains a vocal sample from the 1962 gospel-inspired "Something's Got a Hold on Me" by Etta James. The same vocal sample was used first by Pretty Lights in his 2006 song "Finally Moving". This sample was also used by Drum and Bass producer Logistics on "Call Me Back" and by Flo Rida in his single "Good Feeling", which was produced by DJ Prak and Cirkut. Levels reached the top ten in Croatia, Slovenia,Bosnia, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, The Netherlands, and the United Kingdom and topped the charts in Hungary,Norway, and Sweden

5. Tiësto

Tijs Michiel Verwest, known as Tiësto, is a Dutch musician, DJ and record producer of electronic dance music. Although he has used many aliases in the past, he is best known for his work as DJ Tiësto. On his latest productions, however, he has dropped the "DJ" label and is now known simply as "Tiësto", an artist name which is a twist of his childhood nickname. In 1997, he founded the label Black Hole Recordings with Arny Bink, where he released the Magik and In Search of Sunrise CD series. Tiësto met producer Dennis Waakop Reijers in 1998, and the two have worked together extensively since then. Reijers is credited as producer, writer, composer, or arranger on many of Tiësto's releases. In 1999 and 2000 Tiësto collaborated with Ferry Corsten to create Gouryella. His 2000 remix of Delerium's "Silence" featuring Sarah McLachlan exposed him to more mainstream audiences. In 2001, he released his first solo album In My Memory which gave him several major hits that launched his career. He ranked at #1 on DJ Magazine's annual Top 100 DJs Poll consecutively for three years from 2002 to 2004.
Just after releasing his second studio album Just Be in 2004 at the Summer Olympics, he performed live at the opening ceremony in Athens,Greece, becoming the first DJ to play live on stage at an Olympics. Tracks he made especially for the Olympics were mixed together and released as the mix compilation Parade of the Athletes later that year. In April 2007 Tiësto launched both his radio show Tiësto's Club Life on Radio 538 in the Netherlands and released his third studio album Elements of Life. The album reached number one on the Dutch album chart as well on "Billboard Top Electronic Albums" in the U.S. and received a nomination for a Grammy Award in 2008. Tiësto released his fourth studio album Kaleidoscope in October 2009.

4. Zedd

Zedd also known as Anton Zaslavskiis a Grammy winning Russian-German electronic music producer and DJ. He primarily produces in the electro house genre, but has branched out, drawing influences from progressive housedubstep, and classical music. Zedd grew up and began his career in KaiserslauternGermany. Zedd's best known production to date is the song "Clarity" featuring Foxes which charted at number 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 and and at number one of the US Hot Dance Club Songs. He also won a Grammy award for Best Dance Recording at the 56th Grammy Awards for the same song.

3. Nicky Romero

Nicky Romero is a Dutch DJ and house music composer/producer. He has worked with, and received support from, DJs such as Tiësto, Fedde Le Grand, Sander van Doorn, David Guetta, Calvin Harris, Armand Van Helden, Avicii and HardwellHe currently ranks at #7 on DJ Magazine's annual Top 100 DJs poll.Nick Rotteveel was born and raised in Amerongen, the Netherlands. He moved to KingstonOntarioCanada, for a year, and later moved back to the Netherlands to continue his education. Nicky hit the first snare drum at the age of six and started playing drums in a fanfare. After playing a year or three, he was asked to play in a group who had acts on the streets and big events. At the age of twelve he got his first set of drums and after three years of playing drums every day and night, he swapped them for turntables.

2. David Guetta

Pierre David Guetta is a French house music producer and disc jockey. Originally a DJ at nightclubs during the 1980s and 1990s, he co-founded Gum Productions and released his first album, Just a Little More Love, in 2002.
 Later, he released Guetta Blaster (2004) and Pop Life (2007). 
Guetta achieved mainstream success with his 2009 album One Love which included the hit singles "When Love Takes Over", "Gettin' Over You", "Sexy Bitch", all three of which reached #1 in the United Kingdom, and "Memories". The 2011 followup album, Nothing but the Beat, continued this success, containing the hit singles "Where Them Girls At", "Little Bad Girl", "Without You", "Titanium" and "Turn Me On".
David Guetta has sold over six million albums and 15 million singles worldwide. In 2011 Guetta was voted as the #1 DJ in the 'DJ Mag Top 100 DJs' fan poll.

1. Swedish House Mafia

Swedish House Mafia is a Swedish electronic dance music trio consisting of disc jockeys and producers: Axwell, Steve Angello, and Sebastian Ingrosso. The group officially formed in late 2008. The supergroup placed at number ten on the DJ Magazine Top 100 DJ Poll 2011 and have been called "the faces of mainstream progressive house music." In the DJ Magazine Top 100 Poll 2012 they were ranked at number twelve. On June 24, 2012, the group announced via their website that their current tour would be their last together.
